Model Risk Control Analyst/Senior Analyst
Model Risk control is becoming increasingly important to banks. Do you want to be our key person responsible for Model Risk?
Models are used for decision making throughout all operations of the bank. Models are quantitative methods that apply statistical, financial and mathematical theories, techniques and assumptions to process input date into estimations about the future. Models can also capture qualitative approaches based on expert judgement. Santander Consumer Bank has today 120 models with a variety of uses from credit scoring of customers, capital requirements, loan loss reserves, stress-testing, measurement of interest rate risk and more. Model risk is the risk that the Bank is making poor decisions due to incorrect, inadequate or misused models. We are now looking for a skilled and self-driven colleague who will be responsible for Model Risk in the Bank.
As the Bank’s Model Risk Control Analyst/Senior Analyst, you will have an exciting and challenging position within a relatively new area of the bank, with high visibility and opportunity to make a difference. You will monitor and report on model risk indicators, support the model owners in all phases of the model lifecycle and challenge delays in model improvements and model plans. You will be the key person for model risk competence within the bank and the “go to person” for questions regarding requirements to the model lifecycle. You will also be responsible for managing and leading the Models Committee consisting of management across the risk function. Although model development is a highly quantitative exercise, the most important skills required for this role is to have a good understanding of the use of the models, be structured and organized and have excellent coordination and cooperation skills.
The Model Risk function is part of the Nordic Capital Risk Team consisting of five people. The Capital Risk Team is responsible for the IRB system (used for capital requirement calculations) and capital risk monitoring, in addition to Model Risk.
Main deliveries that you will be responsible for:
- Contribute to the development of a sustainable model risk management program through collaboration with the model owners, model users, model developers, validation teams, implementation teams and other stakeholders. You will use your interpersonal skills to excel in stakeholder management.
- Control and oversee of the model risk in the Bank and its management process through the monitoring of model risk indicators, the execution of controls and the setup of risk appetite and management limits.
- Report of the Model Risk updates, including recommendation status and validation and monitoring feedback.
- Coordinate and consolidate the Model Plan exercise and lead its quarterly monitoring process. In order to coordinate the model planning you will need to understand the purpose of the models and how the models are interrelated.
- Coordinate the building of a complete and accurate Model Inventory, allowing effective management and control environment follow-up.
- Manage the Models Committee meetings and being the main contact for enquiries.
- Ensure that the Bank operates according to regulation and according to internal Model Risk policies and procedures.
- Participate in pan-Nordic and cross-functional projects representing the model risk area and be in close dialog with the Model Risk team in Madrid.
Monitoring Specialist

Responsibilities:
- Configure the end-to-end monitoring and alert service, supporting both proactive and reactive purpose.
- Guide engineers on operational aspects and achieve the expected monitoring service.
- Create and deliver KPI reports to appropriate management personnel on at agreed times.
- Create and share an overview of systems that are monitored and its service performance.
- Deliver and maintain monitoring dashboard and service deviation alerts to relevant stakeholders.
- Automate roll-out of monitoring on servers and applications
- Participation in evening and weekend shifts is expected
Competencies & skills:
- Experience with application and system monitoring, preferably in a large-scale and complex environment
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and platforms, such as Splunk, AppDynamics, OTel or similar
- Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Operational competence with both Linux and windows
- Working with containers are an advantage

Experience & education:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within IT service delivery / application operations
- Minimum 3 years of Monitoring Operations experience or specialization
- Exposure to Cloud – Azure and AWS is a definite plus
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or comparable field or relevant work experience.

IT System Specialist, Corebanking Loans & Leasing
Core Banking Loans & Leasing are strengthen our capacity, we are now searching for a System Specialist for our Development team. As a team we support the Bank within business development, application maintenance as well as operations of our Nordic View21 platform.
Our purpose is to provide an efficient and stable Nordic Core Banking platform and support business projects and innovation. As an IT System Specialist, you will contribute both in development and maintenance activities. You will be a part of a dedicated team of highly skilled specialists, all determined to deliver first class software life cycle management. The Financial products supported by our team is Auto, Consumer Loan, Deposit and Insurance. As part of the team, you will also contribute to the Bank's continuous improvement and efficiency way of work. This position can be located in any of our Nordic locations in Lysaker, Stavanger, Hvidovre, Solna or Helsinki.
Your main tasks:
- Deliver first class experience to our key stakeholders

- High experience and detail knowledge on financial products, processes, and system configurations
- 5-10 years’ experience in utilizing and understanding of complex core banking systems, preferable View21
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements, e.g. AML and GDPR
- Experienced within problem- and change management
- Familiar with SAFe and Scrum principles and methodologies
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, both in one of our Nordic languages and English.
- Familiar with ITIL framework is preferable
- Experienced in working with Kanban and/or Sprint practices

Sales Finance Support Specialist - temporary position

Sales Finance Key accounts are merchants that are typically smaller chains to single merchants. This cluster and group contribute for a large and important share of Santander NBV. In order to successfully operate, manage and to serve this group, we need to develop efficient way of working including high degree of harmonization and automation/digitalization with more standardized products and services offered to the market. At the same time, the key will be to get the merchant to perceive us as local and close to their business. This can be done by industry segmentation with standardized industry specific campaigns to boost at sales peaks etc. Summarized, the key in this part will be to operate with a very high degree of Sales Force Effectiveness and to balance that with a competitive merchant satisfaction.
The most important thing is to get the right person with mindset that drives things forward and also want to continue within sales.

Fraud Risk Management Specialist

As Fraud Risk Management Specialist, you will, together with Risk Infrastructure and Fraud Leader, be responsible for controlling and supervise first line in development, implementation and maintenance of fraud prevention strategies, some key focus areas are:
- Take lead on controlling and supervising first line in building and maintaining an agile fraud prevention system by bridging, integrating, and operationalizing insights from different stakeholders

Your daily tasks will include:
Control and supervising underwriters, fraud investigators, fraud risk analysts, and IT in working collaboratively together in designing agile fraud prevention systems, examples of this would be:
- Organizing and facilitating the creation of new fraud policy rules by bridging insights from first line fraud management and data analysis
- Facilitating tasks and projects regarding implementation of data insights by requesting IT solutions which can be adopted effectively by the first line
- Controlling and assisting projects regarding better integrating of first line, second line and external IT solutions
- Controlling and supporting first line projects regarding harmonizing and optimizing fraud prevention procedures like which fraud checks are needed, when, and carried out by who
- Assist in structuring processes around needed execution, e.g. when and how to act on deteriorating performance, how to prioritize initiatives, etc.
Further, create and maintain Nordic fraud policies and procedures, and ensure relevant information is shared with the right stakeholders at the right time, including facilitating Nordic Fraud Forum, fraud team meeting, and top management reporting.
